Thank you for clarifying and for not taking offense. I hope I didn’t seem accusatory. I do think it is a bit of a prickly situation myself and have frequently struggled to find the right terminology. I suppose average might suffice although, in the SPN fandom, I suppose it’s hard to tell which group is really the average.
I have seen quite a few people, though, regard shipping as abnormal, which is mostly what sparked me putting my statement down.
I did see a lot of people reacting the way you described, actually. As someone who follows a lot of Destiel and Non Destiel blogs, my dash has been fairly full of reactions pretty accurately described in your post. All of which I found fairly confounding.

Hey peeps! This is my tumblr. As it stands, I don't have a theme or anything, but most of what I post is intended to be funny or entertaining. Except for occassional rant - all of which have to do with my various TV obsessions (mostly Merlin, Supernatural, and Sherlock.) Also, I have a mild, but prevalent fascination with Bradley James - which I'm okay with, because it's not like I'll ever meet him *fingers crossed*
